Wednesday and it flooded

Today was a day of flooding. We flooded our listserve with an election email and text message, I’ve been flooded with responses…and then, our basement flooded. The last one led to several realizations.

One: I hate mopping. It sucks. It blows. I could just go one. But all in all, I have to say it was hysterical. There was an all hands on deck alert moment. All of the interns jumped to attention, which was great. And overall, while the experience included me sticking my hand in a drain outdoors to clean it out (which is gross), it was am absurd bonding moment. We filled cups with water, I handled the mop like I was born with one in hand, and the paper-towels used…well, it would make a rainforest weep.

In other news….Whoa!! Blog layout change. And speaking of flooding, as of today:

• Sixty-eight blog hits today
• 2,094 total blog hits since January
• A comments poll, started by G in yesterday’s post and in response to the “summer fling” (that I’m not having)
• Five comments in response to yesterday’s blog [That's an all time high]

All in all it’s been a crazy day, and there are still several hours to go :)
